Even though we may do the same things every day such as drive to work or even catch the train, despite its familiarity this is a place which we have never been to before. From our perspective there may be insignificant differences perhaps, unfamiliar people, changes in the weather or timetable, hiccups on the path and yet each moment of time will be a place which is brand new, at least in quite that guise. Every moment we experience is unique; a revelation if you will and we have been given the ability to ring in the changes, if that is what we desire. How exciting is that?
When a flower in your garden does not bloom, you look at how you can improve the soil perhaps, or even the location; you do not try to fix the flower itself. And yet as humans, this is something that we have fallen into the habit of doing. If we fix our environment however, that is our way of thinking or being, perhaps we shall see changes in our individual selves sooner.
Some of you may have heard of a place called 'the gap', that is the space between the breaths and one which it has been suggested is what you seek when engaging in meditation. You can find this place by following the natural flow of the breath with your awareness. When you do this you will notice that between the incoming and outgoing breaths, there is an infinitesimal space and as you allow your awareness to rest in that space, it will grow. This is known as 'the gap' and as you learn to rest in this space, you will find yourself in a place of peace, harmony and love.
